Welcome to the Teaching & Learning Page!
To the Dover-Sherborn Community,
I am excited and humbled to serve Dover-Sherborn Public Schools as your Assistant Superintendent. This is a community that is dedicated to not only excellence in education, but as the Portrait of a Graduate indicates, caring for the whole student by equipping them with strong social emotional skills and readiness to become responsible members of the global community. Ultimately, as Paulo Freire says, "What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves."
In the Office of Teaching and Learning we are committed to engaging all students by supporting innovative teaching and promoting equity by ensuring all students have access to high expectations and rich learning experiences. We do this by supporting teachers and staff in robust professional development in and out of district as well as finding ways for our educators to showcase their knowledge and expertise in the community.
I look forward to continuing to find ways to inspire, challenge and support all students as they discover their full potential and build their skills of empathy, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, perseverance and engaged citizenship.
Best,
Denny Conklin
