Translation Instructions

Follow these steps to translate using Google Translate:
We recommend using Google Translate to translate brief paragraphs or documents.  

  1. Download and save the document to be translated.
  2. Go to translate.google.com.
  3. Click on translate a document.
  4. Select the Choose File button.
  5. Locate the document to translate.
  6. Select the desired language.
  7. Click on the blue Translate button.

 

PDF Translation Resource (Online Doc Translator):

For PDFs or longer documents - especially those where format retention is important - you can  use  www.onlinedoctranslator.com/translationform. This website translates documents while maintaining the original formatting to maximize understanding.

To use this site:

  1. Upload or drag and drop your document from your computer into the site window
  2. Select your desired translation language
  3. Click on the Translate button

 

Website & Standard Document Translations

  • The button for translations is located at the top of the Dover-Sherborn homepage

  • The following documents are available via the district or respective school’s webpage

    • Language assistance (in the school handbook)

    • Student discipline policies and procedures (in the school handbook)

    • Special education and related services, and meetings to discuss special education (under the Special Ed tab)

    • Grievance procedures and notices of nondiscrimination (in the student handbook)

    • Parent handbooks

    • Generic field trip forms

  • District communications (via Aspen and School Messenger, are automatically translated based upon the home language selected during the registration process). 

  • School Newsletters: 

    • Chickering- Google Docs (use Google Translate)  

    • Pine Hill, Dover-Sherborn Middle School and Dover-Sherborn High School use S’More for newsletters and they can be translated by going to the top, right hand corner of the newsletter:

 


 

Written Translations during the School Year

  • Documents requiring ongoing translation throughout the year

    • Report cards and progress reports 

      • Teacher will send materials to the assistant principal to translate and deliver to family

    • Permission forms (activities, field trips)
