Make sure my software is up to date?

Launch Google Chrome. In the top right corner of the window, select the three dot menu. At the bottom of the pop-up menu, select Settings. On the left side of the window, scroll down to “About Chrome” and select it. This screen shows the current software version and allows the user to check for updates. If an update is available, there will be a button prompt on screen to restart Chrome to apply the update.

Launch System Settings. Select General, then select Software Update. Your Mac will automatically start checking for updates. If any updates are found, they are displayed here. Above the update menu, users can choose to toggle automatic updates, including automatically downloading new updates, installing macOS updates, installing app updates from the App Store, and installing Security Responses and system files.

Swipe down from the middle of the screen to open Spotlight, then search for and launch Settings. Tap General, then tap Software Update. Your iOS or iPadOS device will automatically start checking for updates. If any updates are found, they are displayed here. Above the update menu, users can choose to automatically install iOS or iPadOS updates and Security Responses and system files. Additionally, users can choose to automatically download iOS or iPadOS updates.

Right click the start button and select Settings. Click “Home” on the left hand side of the screen, then click “Windows Update” on the right hand side of the screen. Click “Check for updates” to check for updates. Any available updates are listed below. On this screen, users can choose to get the latest updates as soon as they are available. Further down, under “Advanced Options”, users can choose to get updates for other Microsoft products, such as Office, and can choose to be notified when a new update is ready to install. Finally, users can browse available optional updates - typically driver updates - that should only be installed if there is an issue with a currently installed driver.
