Pine Hill School Procedures For Student Absences
Parents/guardians are asked to notify Pine Hill School whenever a student is going to be absent. Please call 508-651-4960 and leave a message in voice mail box 150 for the school nurse that includes your child’s name, grade, and reason for absence. You must call before 9:00 AM on the day of the absence. This procedure should be followed every day of the child’s absence unless you know on the first day how long an absence can be expected. If the child is out for more than two days due to illness, parents/guardians may request the teacher to assign homework. The assignments may be picked up at the front desk after school on the day it was requested.
After attendance is taken each day, school personnel will call the homes of students whose parents/guardians have not called in. If there is no answer at home, they will call the parents/guardians’ work number or a number on the emergency card.
In order to protect the health and safety of our children with the least inconvenience to all concerned, it is essential that parents/guardians call the school as indicated above. It will not be necessary for parents/guardians to send notes for absences if the above procedure is followed.
