  • Locate the major countries, provinces, states, cities, and physical features on maps of North and South America.
  • Compare and contrast the landforms and climates of the U.S. and Canada.
  • Compare and contrast the economies, governments, resources, populations, and culture of the U.S. and Canada.
  • Analyze and evaluate the impact that humans have had on the environment.
  • Explain the factors that have contributed to the wealth and power of the U.S.
  • Analyze and evaluate the consumption of resources and energy in the U.S.
  • Identify the 4 major geographic regions of the U.S. and list the characteristics of each.
  • Evaluate how European colonization has impacted Latin America.
  • Explain how the physical geography of Latin America has influenced the region’s cultures.
  • Identify the causes and effects of the economic struggles and inequities in Latin America.
