Superintendent

Welcome to the new Dover Sherborn Public Schools website. The website underwent a comprehensive update spanning nearly a year, and of course we will continuously update the site moving forward. We appreciate the work of Ms. Jean Conkey, Technology Administrator, and numerous others who supported this major project. We hope you enjoy a more user-friendly, effective, and efficient website.

Dover Sherborn Public Schools are well respected for high academic standards and effective teaching, which combine to yield stellar achievement among our students. Professional learning communities participate in on-going reflection and assessment, data analysis, and planning which help to define improvement initiatives.

The school system is fortunate to have two communities extremely invested in and supportive of the work required to educate today’s students. The complex challenges of providing high quality education in a rapidly changing world brought town leaders, senior citizens, business leaders, parents, students, school committees, teachers, and administrators together last fall for a Strategic Planning retreat. The 72 participants representing numerous stakeholder groups  worked for two and a half days to create the foundation for a Strategic Plan for the Dover Sherborn Public Schools.

The collaborative work of conference participants resulted in the creation of a mission, core beliefs, vision, and goals that were adopted by all three school committees in the spring. The Strategic Plan is a living document, to be reviewed and renewed to meet the changing needs of the students. The driving focus of the Strategic Plan is educating every student. The Dover Sherborn Public Schools’ Strategic Plan can be found on the publications and downloads section of the Superintendent's site.  I hope you will take some time to read it and join us as we work to achieve our mission, vision, and goals.

Sincerely,

Valerie G. Spriggs
