Guidelines for Keeping Children At Home
We want to be sure that children are not sent to school when ill. We care about the health of all children and adults. The following conditions are easily spread among classmates and staff. We ask you to please review these guidelines:

•Any child who has vomited or had diarrhea during the night or in the early morning should not be sent to school that day.

•Any child with a temperature over 99.8 should be kept home.

•Children taking antibiotics for an infectious condition (please consult the prescribing doctor) should not be sent to school until they have taken a full twenty-four hours’ course of the antibiotic.

•Any child found to have head lice may not attend school until the condition has been treated with one of the specialized shampoos for killing lice and until all nits have been removed.

•Please remember also that a child who returns to school too soon may be susceptible to whatever else is going around and may take longer to make a full recovery. None of us wants a child to miss school, but we also do not want a sick child attending school, both for the child’s sake and for the sake of everyone else at Pine Hill.
