Welcome to Chickering School’s Guidance Department! The Chickering School Guidance Department staff consists of two mental health professionals, Cheryl Baressi and Cynthia Shapiro, M.S. We serve as counselors for the children in the school community, providing services for children requiring prevention, on-going support, or crisis intervention within the educational setting. We also meet with parents and teachers as needed to help address student concerns as collaboratively as possible. As you will see in this website, our role is also to educate and support parents. We conduct parent workshops and apprise parents of outside resources and interesting opportunities to enhance your parenting know-how.
