Position Title: Instructional Technology Teacher PreK-12 Contract Year: School Year with possible Summer Planning Time Reports to: Mr. Steven Bliss, Assistant Superintendent Salary: Per Teachers' Agreement Starting Date: August 27, 2012
Job Description: Provides leadership in the planning, development and implementation of appropriate grade level technology focusing on the integration of technology into the instructional program. Collaborates with teachers and models the use of instructional technology to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology. Develops, organizes, and implements appropriate staff training relating to technology education and integration in tandem with the central office staff, building based administrators and IT staff. Serves as a source of information on trends, research, applications, and effective practices related to technology use in the school program. Provides consultation to teachers and administrators on the implementation of the Massachusetts Technology Literacy Standards and Expectations. Experience with the following: 1) creation of online video training using ScreenCast or similar; 2) Adobe Acrobat; 3) Student information systems; and 4) curriculum and learning/course content management systems.
Requirements
Valid Massachusetts state certification in Instructional Technology Skills in computers and technology hardware and software applications Knowledge and skills in integrating technology into curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices, and ability to coach other staff members in effective uses of instructional technology within their classroom programs Demonstrated interpersonal relations, organization, communication and problem-solving skills Ability to organize and deliver staff development opportunities that support the use of technology in education.
