Faculty

The Faculty of the High School consists of 50 teachers and 27 non-instructional employees.  A strong mentoring program provides a forum for both new and more experienced faculty to exchange ideas, observe across the curriculum and integrate new methods, materials and technologies.  The High School’s Special Education Department consists of five full-time and one part-time special educators and is under the supervision of the Regional Schools’ Administrator of Special Education.   The High School is accredited by the New England Association of Secondary Schools.

Class Size

The population for grades 9-12, in the year 2004-2005, is 558 students.  Although numbers will vary from program to program depending upon curricular objectives, the chart below provides average class size over the past several years at the High School:

Measures of Our Student's Success

Dover-Sherborn Regional High School has been and continues to be one of the top academic public high schools in the State of Massachusetts.  We are proud of our student's outstanding test scores and view this as one of many important yardsticks for measuring our students' academic success relative to other school systems.  Please find some indicators of this success in the following charts.

MCAS Results for 2003

The sixth year of MCAS scores for grade ten students, once again put Dover-Sherborn among the highest scoring high schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  In the most recent round of testing, our students achieved a proficiency index higher than any other public school district in Massachusetts, 97.4 in English Language Arts and 95.7 in mathematics.  The percent of students in tenth grade scoring in the advanced levels of English and math exceeded every other high school in the Commonwealth.  Sixty-five percent scored Advanced in Math and fifty-nine percent scored Advanced in English.
