New Computer Blues The good news is that you have a new computer. The bad news is that you can’t open your files on the school computers that you created on your new home computer. The most likely reason for this is that your new computer runs Office 2007 while the DS network runs Office 2002. Unfortunately, the files created using Office 2007 cannot be opened with Office 2002. Don’t despair, there is a solution to this problem. It’s possible to save files in Office 2007 programs in the ‘old’ Office file formats. For example, for a word document, on the new computer, just select Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc) from the Save As Type drop-down list in the Save As dialog box. Posted on: 12/18/07

What's for
Dinner? As many of you know, Sherborn Dollars for Scholars (not to be confused with DSEF!) is a locally operated and supported non-profit scholarship organization whose sole purpose is to assist Sherborn high school seniors and college students, including METCO seniors who have attended Pine Hill and D/S High School, meet the costs of higher education. For over 40 years, the Sherborn community has supported SDFS, enabling the organization to award over $400,000 in scholarships. Increasingly, many families in all towns are feeling the tremendous financial strain associated with the soaring costs of a college education. Both public and private college costs have sky-rocketed. Federal loan funding has been decreased, while state and private aid sources are being stretched to their limits. Each contributing Sherborn resident makes Sherborn Dollars for Scholars work! Without the community's generosity, the scholarship program could not exist. Please help continue this long-held tradition in Sherborn, and make a difference to our students. Contributions can be mailed to: Sherborn Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 63, Sherborn,MA 01770. (Please make checks payable to "Sherborn Dollars for Scholars") For more information, visit our web site at www.sherborndfs.org. Many thanks to all supporters,
Jackie Morris,
